Banana & Mango Quark Porridge

Nutrition Tip:

Quark is a cross between cottage cheese and yoghurt. It’s a great source of calcium, protein, low in fat, high in B vitamins and to top it all of its gut-friendly. The flavour of this nutritious cheese may seem a bit plain, however, if you mix it with a variety of fruit, you will create a lovely snack. The best thing, it doesn’t cost a fortune.

Preparation Time: 2 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oats

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 3 bigger pieces fresh mango

  • 1.5 tbsp quark

  • 1 cup of coconut milk

  • 1 nectarine

  • a handful of almonds (decoration)

  • 1 tsp peanut butter

  • 1 tsp coconut flakes

Method:

  1. Blend the banana and mango with quark and coconut milk until it’s smooth.

  2. Then pour the mixture onto the oats and cook it on the low heat for 5 minutes, until the porridge thickens up.

  3. Decorate with whatever you fancy. I have chosen a fresh nectarine, almonds, coconut flakes and of course peanut butter.
