Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Nutrition Tip

You know that I am a big fan of oats. This grain has to be part of my day to day life, as it has so many incredible benefits when it comes to our health. Oats are part of complex carbohydrates which means that these type of carbohydrates are a slow release of energy and therefore keeps you full for much longer. Also, oats contain soluble fibre which helps reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels and promotes healthy gut bacteria.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oats

  • 1 cup of milk (I used plant based)

  • 1.5 tsp of linseeds (good for digestion)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1.5 tsp of Sweet Freedom sauce (date syrup or honey)

Method:

  1. Stir it all well. Ensure it is not too watery and if it is then add a bit more oats. Leave it in the fridge overnight.

  2. In the morning, top it off with whatever fruit you find at home. I slightly glazed on a bit of coconut oil chopped pear and grapes with more cinnamon. You can also use granola, nuts, seeds, or peanut butter as a topping.
